Evan MacLean holds a master of science in finance from Suffolk University in Massachusetts. Evan MacLean’s education at the Massachusetts school prepared him for an extensive career in the commercial insurance industry.
Since 2026, Mr. MacLean has served as a senior captive underwriter at Captives Insure in Knoxville, Tennessee. His responsibilities in this position involve analyzing complex, multi-line property and casualty risks for domestic and foreign captive placements. He manages a $25 million book with a strict focus on underwriting profitability and risk selection. Over his more than 15-year career as an underwriter, he has established a track record of effectively managing multiple million-dollar accounts and sustaining strategic relationships in service of business objectives.
Mr. MacLean began his career as a commercial casualty underwriter in 2002 in a position that involved account service management in the Chicago and Boston markets. He later served as a senior property and casualty underwriter and as a commercial property underwriter.
Beyond his work at Captives Insure and his affiliations with professional organizations such as The Institutes Knowledge Group, Mr. Maclean enjoys staying active by skiing, playing golf, and traveling.
